The German Gliding Museum with model flight on the Wasserkuppe shows you a fascinating show of historical and modern aircraft on an area of about 4,000 square meters. Learn more about the adventurous beginnings of aviation, the passionate development and research on the unwooded heights of the Rhöner Berg up to the present state of the art of modern aircraft technology!
From the first gliders to the high-tech glider
The unique exhibition of around 60 originals and replicas spans the arc from the first gliders to the high-tech glider that broke world records.
On your tour you will discover rarities such as the forefather of the modern glider, the Vampyr, the gull-winged Minimoa or the curious rocket duck.
Experience how the first air jumps were followed by long flights, why gliding is a valuable community and how you can become an aviator.

Impressive model flying collection
The museum also houses a large number of model aircraft and the impressive collection of model engines of the Dr. Rubin Foundation.
Here you will also discover milestones in the history of model flying, whether with or without an engine. Among them are rarities such as original model airplanes of the Horten brothers, the animal researcher Bernhard Grzimek with built-in camera for his rare animal photographs and much more.
