Depending on the wind direction, various launch sites are available. TANDEMWELT offers tandem paragliding flights in the Rhön region year-round, weather permitting.

Requirements

The passenger must be in good physical health and weigh no more than 95 kg. The TANDEMWELT team is happy to answer any questions regarding the requirements in advance. A zero-tolerance policy for alcohol applies to air sports.

Apparel

The passenger should wear sturdy, ankle-supporting footwear, such as hiking boots. Clothing should be appropriate for the season – similar to what you would wear for hiking. We recommend long trousers, a T-shirt, a fleece or sweater, and a windbreaker; in winter, a ski suit. The pilot will provide the passenger with a flight helmet.

The passenger will be informed of the exact meeting point where they are expected at the agreed time when the appointment is made. Take-offs will take place from different launch sites depending on the wind direction.

Safety

Paragliding is considered the safest form of aerodynamic flying. So far, there have been no serious paragliding accidents (involving wheelchair users or fatalities) on the Wasserkuppe.

Flight

The voucher includes a flight from the take-off and landing sites. The flight duration depends on various factors (wind, weather, passenger weight, etc.) and is between approximately 5 and 15 minutes.

For those who want to do more than just ride along and actually take to the skies themselves, simply book a weekend taster course with Papillon Paragliding, Germany's most popular paragliding school (based on licenses issued since 2000), located directly on the Wasserkuppe mountain. No prior experience is necessary. Virtually anyone who is healthy and of average fitness (e.g., for cycling) can learn or try paragliding.
