Die Eisheiligen ice cream – now also on the Wasserkuppe!
We make ice cream that does not use any artificial additives or other nonsense and yet – or rather, precisely because of this – is of very high quality and incredibly delicious.
As far as possible, the raw materials are purchased regionally. On average, over 60% of the ingredients come from the Rhön. For milk ice cream, of course, the milk, for fruit ice cream the water, which is known to be of particularly high quality (UNESCO biosphere reserve).
If available we use fruit from the region (strawberries, apples, quinces…). Many other ingredients like honey, hay or whisky come from the Rhön. We bake ingredients like cookies or brownies ourselves.
What we do not get from the Rhön we try to buy directly from the producer. So we get almond, nut and pistachio pastes directly from Sicily. Near Valencia we have planted an orange tree. Every year we get the harvest directly from the farmer.
At the moment we are in contact with a vanilla farmer in Madagascar to find out if he can supply us directly. We get our coffee from the regional roastery Reinholz.
