The ski area Zuckerfeld offers floodlit ski runs with snow-making facilities up to 2 km long – on the southern slope of the Wasserkuppe!
Since the beginnings of skiing over 100 years ago, the Wasserkuppe has been known and loved as a winter sports region.
Fast downhill runs with skis, snowboard or sledges in the ski and toboggan arena Wasserkuppe or at the sugar field still attract winter sportsmen to the “Ski Mountain Wasserkuppe” today.
The natural snow pistes are additionally covered with snow if required. Thanks to floodlights, skiing on the Wasserkuppe and at the sugar field is still possible in the evening.
Hesse’s highest cross-country ski run leads around the airfield. The high plateau is considered one of the best snowkite spots in Germany. And of course paragliders are also active in winter: paragliding over the snowy slopes of the Wasserkuppe is an unforgettable experience!
Those who like it quieter can enjoy the winter landscape on a winter hike and warm up afterwards with a Glühwein or coffee at the open fireplace…
